I'm looking for a new disc and pressure plate. Are the 215mm VW parts the same? They look awfully similar and are a fraction of the price.

From memory I would say yes and no,the disc is the same but the pressure plate has different offset.
The disks were made with 4 and 6 springs but I think now they are mostly the 6 supplied by many resellers.
Inspect the pressure plate carefully if the condition is ok you can reuse them, also make sure your flywheel still has a reasonable running surface.
Shop around for your parts prices seem to vary a fair amount, good luck.

What should I look for on the pressure plate? I do have one from another 914. Flywheel has been refurbished.
