FS. I have a pair of new OEM left and right side heater boxes w/cable connectors (not the cables) for a 914-6. Sold my 6 prior to installing. Purchased for $130/ea. Selling the pair for $175/offer - Ugh. Would love these to go to someone in our group prior to broader market. Thanks David

The fours are often used on sixes and work fine but the real six flapper boxes have a large opening on the top of the cap.

I made a couple copies with a hole saw. The last pic is my copy.

I always wondered why the sixes had the holes in the tops?

Was it due to the sixes generating too much heat?

I don’t think it’s too much heat generated. I think it just allows more airflow out the flapper boxes.
Unless I have it wrong, air is always moving through the heat exchangers on a 4 or 6 so the larger exit on the 6 flapper box just helps keep the air moving through the system.
