Can the turn signal switch part be removed from the wiper switch part?
I'm guessing that it just slides up on the four pins, but I don't want to just get rammy on it. Thought I should ask first. |

After removing it, one of the copper contacts has about an 1/8" hole rubbed through it on the high point. Is it still going to be usable?

It's hard to say. It sounds like it's shot. Just remember not to tighten the four screws when you reassemble things. Those mechanisms need to "float" to work right. BTDT.

If it's shot, I replaced the switch on my '73 with this cheap Beetle part: https://www.cip1.ca/vwc-111-953-513-f/
It was a direct fit. |
