I finally realized why my engine lid flys open bangs the targa top if I don't put one hand on the lid when I pop it open: the rubber stoppers are missing in the hinges.
I looked on 914 Rubber's site but didn't see them based on the item descriptions. Does anybody know where I can buy them? Attached thumbnail(s) |

They also push into the leading edge of the front trunk floor to keep the front apron from rattling. |

Chapman would probably have endorsed the loss of parts approach. Runs OK? Go for it. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) thats what I do but did replace mine anyway ,right ba#tards to fit ,I had to mod mine a little to get then in ,I would expect hard ones would strain the hinge if you didn't hold the lid when opening as it is a weak point. I was thinking about removing one torsion bar but don't think it would stay fully up ?. |

To install these I found it easier to remove the lid. That way you can relieve tge springs without worring about damaging any paint on the rear trunk.
