Yup, 14x5.5 ---- 4 bolt Fuchs.
Look just like the five lug. They just have 4 holes. I was wondering what these wheels were used on. I have a set coming to me in trade for a 1.8 crank and a targa top. I have no clue of their value or their use. Are they worth anything? (Aaron, are you listening?) I am going to assume (probably wrong) that these are for an early 912. The guy that I am getting them from said they are from an original 914-6 car. I dunno... Could use some help from the club on this. Thanks in advance... Clayton |

914-6s had a 5 bolt 5.5x14 Fuchs. 914-6s all had 5 bolt hubs as far as I know. I have never seen a 4 bolt Fuchs that looks like the typical early 911 Fuchs wheel.
Sounds like some aftermarket wheel? It will be interesting when you get them. Post some pics and make sure to check the back side for Porsche part number. |

YUP. That is what I had always thought.
Then again. I thought I knew a lot until I came upon this board. I am finding out there were many small permutations of 914 models from the factory. I am never sure what anomolies were built. (how do you build an anomoly?) Thats why I ask you guys. Cause I am never sure of anything on these cars. My most recent epiphany was there are a few 914s that had sail panel vinyl on the windshield pillars from the factory... Who woulda thunk................. Not Me...... NOTE: I don't have these wheels in my hot little hands yet. Pictures to follow upon delivery to me.... Twystd1 |

to MY knowledge, no 14" 4 lug wheel was made....
14x5.5" fuchs (5 lugs) were for comfort option on 914/6 and used on some 911's...
912 are 5 lug (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) |

I think they were also part of a early 911 comfort group option, taller side wall , softer ride.
the 14x51/2 5 lug Fuchs. |

4 lug Fuchs that look like 5 lug Fuchs? With 5 petals? I think aftermarket. There was (is?) and aftermarket wheel 4 lug with 8 petals, but it was not a Fuch.

IIRC there were some oddball 924 wheels that match that description.

PET doesnt show any 4 lug fuchs that look like 5 lug. Its either aftermarket, or bogus. I wouldnt discount aftermarket though. Ive seen a bunch of bugs with fuchs, and arent they 4 lug?

There was also a 4.5" X 15" (5 lug) Fuchs used on the 67 911S...pretty well all silver with very little black.

I have seen what you are talking about. They are a 14" 4 lug wheel that sort of looks like a fuchs, except they only have 4 spokes. They are aftermarket and IIRC very heavy. I am sure there is a picture somewhere on this site - but have no idea what you would search under....

Oh yeah, maybe he thinks the American Racing coke bottles, or whatever they're called, are fuchs. Yet another possibility. Good call! |

Nope - none of those. These wheels look exactly like a good old fashioned fuchs wheel, the finish, the color of the paddles (silver) - they just have 4 paddles instead of 5. They are not the libra wheel or anything close to as nice as the ATS stuff. Most likely they were a bug accessory. I am kinda swamped, but will try and do a search later. I know someone asked about a set that was on E-bay in the past 2 years or so.

I seen a set on a 912 bout a year ago; guy was going to sell them to me, but never followed up. I think the 914 inside Jones Bicycle Shop in Belmont Shores has 14's. I like the way it bring the car down.

Now I am really wondering if these things are real... I have 2 e-mails from a differant forum that says they are darn sure they have seen them on porsche cars in the 70s. No evidence.. Just interesting data................. Twystd1 |
