I got 8"s right now and it works. It'll get you about 4" clearance on the bumpstops on 22" tires. Go about an inch from the bottom of the collar and you'll be about right at the bump stops.
These are on koni sports though. |

How far can you compress a 8" spring before it coil binds?

soo... i have these
(IMG:http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/images/new_images2/bilstein_shock_kit_914.JPG) and my perches (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/blog-1127533450.jpg) have the seating notch about .5" from the bottom.... so, if these were to sit on the top notch of the bilstein strut.... they would be ok with an 8" spring? |

If it's at all useful(yeah I know they're not bilsteins). Here's some pics of it as low as it will go while just touching the bumpstops. The collars are about 6.5" from the bottom of the shock mounts.
