Each day a little closer and a new problem.
I was driving the car last evening and had dash lights and gauges working. I decided to turn on the head lights and off went the dash lights. Head lights off, dash lights return. All fuses intact. I suspect, somewhere in the head lignt switch or the head lights there is a short which takes current away. Any thoughts? Thanks, Larry |

It could also be creative rewiring. When I bought my car the green running light lamp came on with the headlights due to a crossed connection. Also, the Pelican site has a very good article on headlight switch repair. I also remember finding a list of continuities for the light switch connection points for each position of the switch, but I don't have a copy of it saved.

Sometimes the reostat for dashlight brightness will goof up and cause such a
situation, use some tunerbath (you can get it at radioshack) and spray down into the guide for the shaft. Might be easer if you drop the headlight switch first. |
