Did it, made a big difference. Get the German kit, not the cheaper one. If your ball joints are shot, you probably wont notice that much difference. Do it all at once (tie rods, ball joints, wheel bearings...)

Had a bad tie rod end. Figured it was cheaper to do a turbo kit than piece by piece replace with stock. Steering was more accurate but then nothing was loose anymore.

Most suppliers sell the German one, a few have bought the cheep one on ebay. Just get the proper part numbers, and compare them to the one you plan on buying.

Recommend the Turbo tie rod kit. I have done this to three of my cars and it made a huge change for the better. One more thing. Have a four wheel alignment done at the same time.
You will be very satisfied. CCLINSLOTCARHEAVEN |

Its hard to compare because everything is worn out before but when you change the ball joints, wheel bearings, bushings, struts, and install tubro tie rod ends there is a great deal of dfferance in how the car turns in. Bernie

FYI:
It also gives you more road feedback thru the steering wheel (you will feel more bumps in the pavement). I do it to all of the cars we build... but it is not a "must have" on my list. I evaluate each customer and see if they really need them or not. b |

i did the swap. but i also did ball joints AND put koni reds AND triad upper strut mounts AND a 4way alignment. with doing such a wholesale change it's hard to pin point which was the greater improvement item. it steers like a completely different car.

Adding the turbo tie rods produced a noticeable improvement in steering "crispness" even after having upgraded the front end with 911 running gear and new bearings / ball joints. Highly recommended. Like going from a shotgun to a rifle.

The last set I did was also a wholsale change. I powdercoated ALL of the suspension and installed Bils front and rear, new poly bushings front and rear, turbo tie rods. Couldn't even recognize the car if you were blindfolded behind the wheel. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I like the turbo tie rods for my AX car but I'd think 2x about it on my stock 914 (the money vs the benefit). You may want to upgrade your entire front end, or not.... what are you going after???

Brad is setting me up with the entire set up for my car.. Mine are shot right now, just like the entire rest of the suspension... After I get Konis on 4 corners and some Brad tricks I'll be able to use all my 2316cc power.

just to buy ends, castelated nuts, and boots is $82. you still have to content with the old u -joints and worn out related crap. if you should do the ball joints consider buying a new ball joint pin or 2 when you order. mine came out REAL hard. "good morning, pelican parts..."
