Okay I was looking at a 911.5 the other day, and the number I thought was not the engine code. So I went backa nd got another Engine code.
This number was on a vertical fan support. The number is *6196765* Complete with the stars. Does that mean anything to anyone? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) TYIA |

Rich wouldn't a engine that early in the development phase be one that still used the internal code 901, before they entirely switched over to the 911 style?
I'll tell the guy that I think he has a the 2.0 with webers. The 911.5 is a crack I started to make with the seller over its 912 chassis with a 911 motor in it. Thank you very much. Now I don't have to get anymore emails from him. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) have a beer on me! |

Anderson, Frere, Pelican Wayne ... don't seem to refer to its location either. there's probably a way to get more out of the serial number - such as year of production - but i don't know any more decoder tricks - sorry ... |

*6196765* is a 1969 911 T #6765. Which would be a 8.6:1, 110 HP /5800, 1991 CC, weber motor, if still original.
