1.8 and 2.0 are different three hole VS 4 holes on the bolt pattern. Each are a different part number. I think the 1.7L and 1.8L have a different ID.

I stand corrected and embarrassed......when the question came up, I happened to have my AA catalog open to the hard parts section and noticed the numbers for the 1.7 and 2.0 were the same, but different for the 1.8......I never thought for a second about the 3 vs 4 bolt heads till i saw your post (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) ........the mind is the first thing to go...thank goodness (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Jerry

I really thought my 1.8's are 4 bolt.
I just removed a set of 2.0 two weeks ago and I am pretty sure they were 3 bolt.

All heads were interchangable so a 1.8 head could be on a 1.7 or 2.0 case, correct?

Porsche 2.0 heads are 3 stud
Bus 2.0 are 4 stud
all 1.7 & 1.8 are 4 stud.
