Hey all,
The amount of time my car has sat is getting very silly.
I need some folks to come over and motivate me / help me get my engine finished and back on the road.

I think the car needs ~2 days of work before it fires and tuning starts in earnest.

You tell me what day you can come over. You can pick a weekend day between now and March 2014. If I am free or can get free I'll say yes. I will buy you beer and feed you. You will help me work and keep me motivated.
Unless I'm hunting or have obligated myself to help someone else, I'll do what I can to free myself up.

Punchlist (somewhat in order):
  1. attach 4 way CHT senders
  2. attach tooth timing ring and timing sender
  3. install dizzy cover
  4. attach harness wire to timing sender
  5. Attach tins and doghouse
  6. attach coil on plug (COP) brackets
  7. Remove engine from stand and place on install trolly.
  8. attach COPs
  9. attach plenum and intake runners
  10. attach wire harness
  11. attach airbox
  12. install new HP fuel hose
  13. install pump, filter
  14. install gas tank, wiring
  15. install engine shelf SS fuel lines
  16. install Tangerine shift kit bushing
  17. modify trans console ear for Tangerine shift kit
  18. mate engine to transmission on install trolly
  19. install engine into the car
  20. install SSI exchangers, muffler
  21. install 02 sender and harness
  22. Install Tangerine shift bar
  23. Hook up oil cooler wires (reroute as needed)
  24. Hook up axles
  25. figure out what I'm missing with the Microsquirt setup.....
  26. new brake pads on all corners
  27. fresh fluid and bleed brakes
  28. OIL
  29. gas
  30. start it up!
Who will help me? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif)

Thanks!
Zach

When you get to playing with the MicroSquirt, DON'T upgrade the firmware to 3.83. I've got 3 MS units that are bricked by it at this point. Still holding out hope that I can revive them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

k

It's a nerd term for when a device becomes non-functional. For example, "The power went out while I was updating and bricked my iPod, so now I just use it to keep my door open."

But, I'm being a bit melodramatic. The 3.83 update only killed the ability to reset onboard flash memory values such as IAT and CHT sensor calibration as well as the O2 sensor range values. I'm working with the MS guys to figure out a solution.

As soon as I chase down a few electrical gremlins (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) with my car & pass inspection, count me in.

We need some local representation at Hershey next year!

Just found a solution to my 'bricked' 3.83 MicroSquirts. Pretty simple really - the 3.83 firmware requires the use of the latest BETA version of TunerStudio. So you can upgrade the firmware afterall.

Hi Zach,
Maybe I would have to hop a plane, but it sounds fun. Am I too far away? Prefer to stay clear of salt you know. Isn't as though you haven't done me a good turn. Motel six and wrenches. I've seen wuss.

Wish I had some more vacation time. I can call you every evening and tell you to get your ass in gear. Let me know if there is anything I can do from here.

Mark E, I'm helping another World member the 21st, so I won't be around that day.
Bob: get yer damn car on the road and drive it to my house and get my car on the road.
Worn/Towle: would be happy to put you up for a weekend. I think a weekend would have the car on the road.
Shoe: you we always welcome to visit.

Can you tow it to the ECC?

someone on dorkiphus has announced a Dr trans clinic sometime in Oct.

http://dorkiphus.net/porsche/showthread.php?t=31013

I suggested coordinating with ECC. I'm workin' on a project to display at ECC.

I don't know about towing the car. More just don't want to. But I could bring the engine and get it further assembled....
