I bought a pair of Chevy aluminum heads for the 283 I'm building for my '75 autocrosser. Good shape, low miles, good price, but unfortunately the PO painted them blue... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)
Know of a way to get paint off aluminum? I heard stripper would discolor it. Mike T |

I'd use a small (not cheap, but small) wire wheel on a die grinder or something similar.
Wait, what am I saying. I'd glass bead 'em probably. |

Well, I found something that worked great. Spray carburator cleaner. Ever see the warnings not to get it on painted surfaces?
Here's why... Mike T Attached image(s) ![]() |
