on my 73 i must have an aftermarket wheel,there is a 1/2 gap between back of steering wheel and steering column.the turn signal return piece on steering wheel back does not shut signal off,doesn go in far enough to connect with tab,also horn plate does not contact anything.what does it look like on your cars?

It could be that you have a steering wheel hub for an early 914. Steering wheels for 70 & 71 are different from 72 thru 76.
What brand aftermarket wheel & hub do you have. I may have a late hub for a "Grant" wheel. Might also have a "plain jane" stock wheel from a 72. Jim |

Jim Thanks all Bruce stone came through with wheel,my aftermarket le carrera wheel has 9 screws ,most others are 6 or 8,I believe that my wheel is a copy of the British company version,I couldn't find a hub adapter to make it work ,but will keep looking |
