Is the muffler really unsupported? If so, you might want to think about a hanger of some kind for it...

I think anyone with the knowledge and skill to build and install an engine like that will pretty much be able to take care of an oil leak or muffler hanger. I'm sure they appreciate the help and advice though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

QUOTE Is the muffler really unsupported? If so, you might want to think about a hanger of some kind for it... I am guessing that the muffler has to hang like that because of the axle when the car is in the air. That is a thing of beauty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) |

The perfect force fed, big displacement type4 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif)
If that is a foam type air filter keep your eye on it. The foam does not like big heat, starts to get brittle and deposit small chunks into the intake stream, btdt and I have the tee shirt ! Marty |

Is the muffler really unsupported? If so, you might want to think about a hanger of some kind for it... --DD Yes. It's just hanging there for now. I was not going to leave it that way and am planning to hang it before I drive it. Glad to see you finally got that beast road-ready. Congrats; it sounds angry!! Now go punish it!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) Thanks. But all the credit for the build goes to Mark and the OC!! The perfect force fed, big displacement type4 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) If that is a foam type air filter keep your eye on it. The foam does not like big heat, starts to get brittle and deposit small chunks into the intake stream, btdt and I have the tee shirt ! Marty Yes. That is foam (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Thanks for the advice!! I'll definetly get that changed out!! Seems like that left the OC more than a year ago (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) were ya skeard to put it in? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) You know I was looking at the dates. I cannot believe it's almost been a year!! To be honest... once I got the engine installed I was pretty scared or apprehensive in turning that key for the first time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I was afraid something would break!! Just glad Mark did the cam break in at the shop so I knew that it ran at least. For those that don't know. He did the cam break in with carbs before sending the motor to me. Damn ! Very Very Nice ! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) , Bill D. curious is their a thread on details of the motor build ? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) , Well sort of. There are pics of various steps along the way. http://www.originalcustoms.com/invoice/images.php?p=143 |
