You better make it sound that good, since you have the MFI and everything. I won't send this link to my brother (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

As a former sometimes sound adjuster I can say it's all about the frequency, amplitude and side tones.
There are engineers working on this as we "speak". Rules and regulations of DIN standards enforced in the EU. Excellence had a writeup of a custom resonator for a Carrera GT someone had made. The art of expansion chamber design was a subject in the '70s. Had a set of Bill Wirdges pipes for the 750H2. Made the engine real peaky up high. A lot of header makers there in the USA,they know this stuff. |

My 2.7 with webers and single muffler sounded like that. I miss that sound, but I don't miss the hassle of the webers.

A lot of wringing of hands about those Webers.
A big straight six on side drafts in the '70s. No sweat, tlc simply required. It made a nice sound too. Picture of it around here somewhere. DB4. |

I had the pleasure of meeting Martin Scart at Cars and Coffee last Saturday as he was visiting from France. He makes some of the absolute best sounding Porsche mufflers ever, and that video is one of his mufflers. If anyone is interested, a friend of mine is the only US importer for the mufflers at the moment. They aren't cheap, but they'll outlast the car...

I really miss that sound. It went with the 2.7L I traded for the 3.6... which will never sound anything like this no matter what I do. It's too big a pump.
So the answer? Build both! |

I take that back, this specific muffler is $2200 out the door with import taxes and such. His normal 2 in 1 out sport muffler is $1590.
