Can anyone tell me the sale price of this GT factory built car in 2008 What would the likely sales price of this car be in the present marketplace? How many factory built GT cars presently remain in the states? 2008 Ebay listing LINK: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?act...t&id=159522 https://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/ca...t-race-34-years |

If the question is
What would a new factory car like this sell for today? You would have to look at the: Cayman GT4 or the Boxster Spyder so about 85k otherwise, if the question is what does this old race car bring on an open market... Whatever someone is willing to pay... Ponzi schemers have no problem spending other peoples money.... Rich people buy cars to put in a private collection... like kids collect hot wheels. |

Sale prices at this level are usually not disclosed but you could figure around $300,000. Race history really plays a big part in the value and this car has none |

My reference is to this specific advertised factory built 914-6 GT With the new information provided it looks like this was not a Factory Built 914-6 GT I'm still very interested in the sales price, looks like a super nice dealer build GT My inquiry is regarding sale prices of the few factory built 914-6 GT with and without race history. Anyone who can provide me with auction or other sales in recent years would be much appreciated. |

What if one of the three factory 914-6 GT's that swept the podium at the 1970 Marathon de la Route came up for Auction? Or the 1970 LeMans GT class winner car #40?
Is there possibly a Million Dollar 914 out there? I just found this one that apparently sold for 400,000 Euros last year. A "world" member apparently owned this? http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/161186986 Also the car in question in the OP is stated in pbase that it sold at or near $400,000. This one is currently (as of October) listed for sale at $495,000: http://www.koelnberger-cars.de/cars_porsche_914_en.html Pbase 914-6 GT sales history can be found here: http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/market_history_9146gt |

I hope others can turn up more information for the top valued 914's |

Are you buying or selling a factory GT? I'm looking to buy a 914-6 GT I was able to buy a fantastic Ravenna 914-4 from Rick and Sandy and more recently an Adriatic Blue matching numbers 914-6 Regarding prices, it's difficult to find comparable GT cars with so many variable options created from the Factory Built 914-6 GT (It is much easier to find comps for the 914 and 914-6) My goal is a very clean street 914-6 GT with some old world GT influence or an older 914-6 racer. I'm interested in both long term value and driver enjoyment. |

For a real GT, could see the price go +/- $100K easily over the real value depending on whom you asked. I think some people just like to set an unrealistic price. |

I'm looking to buy a 914-6 GT .... My goal is a very clean street 914-6 GT with some old world GT influence or an older 914-6 racer. So it sounds like a GT "tribute" car is one of the possibilities? If so, that's a whole lot less $$ than a factory-built one. Glenn Stazak (hi, Glenn!) tells us there were only ~40 built by the factory. http://www.stazak.com/914/gt/car/car.html With ~40 built, and probably most of those raced at some point, you're looking for a very rare car when you say "a factory-built 914-6 GT with no race history". That yellow one that showed up again recently is probably going to be the only recent example of one for sale. If you have a "tribute" car, you can drive it. If you have one of the real ones, chances are it will be too valuable to really drive... --DD |

I'm looking for a factory built 914-6 with as many additional GT options as I can afford.
My second choice is a factory built 914-6 turned race car with added GT flares. My hunt is for original 914-6 vins in two different cars one street and one race. I'm going to be looking at a couple old race cars in the near future, both with 914 vins. An original factory built 914-6 GT I cannot afford, with or without race history. |

Where did the information come from that says that 1571 was not a factory GT? I knew the first private owner (Charley Grimes) when he bought the car in 1972, and remember him bringing the car back to Tulsa. (made it as far as El Paso before it broke a rocker arm and had to be trailered the rest of the way). He had said it was a factory built car at that time. It was then sold or passed on to its second owner and it sat in his service showroom in Tulsa until 2003 or so.
There was an earlier thread about this car when it was listed for $375K, and ericreed had posted the ebay description which detailed the build history, saying it was special project 42 from the factory. Of course, ebay descriptions may be faked, but at that price you would think the seller would have documentation to back it up. Was it later proven to be incorrect? |

Maxwelj - I would like to think some portion of the GT build was done at the factory if it sold anywhere near $400k I'm the guy trying to learn:) |

Dennis, you need to spend some time with Glenn. He is a wealth of knowledge on the subject of GT's, IMSA and 6's. He will be able to steer you along the way. He has forgotten more than many of us know about that subject.
