I met this old ferrari guy who took me through his photo album and pointed out all the cars he had totalled in his years.
He thought it was funny.

what have you crashed that you wished you still had?

Ground the crap out of the trans. backing out of the place too, felt like a total NOB.

I racked up one of these in France about 10 years ago. Wasn't this nice luckily.

I probably totales my 914 once myself. It was totaled twice before that. Once some new driver was backing out of a parking spot and didn't watch where the front of his car was going. It was going into my door and rear quarter panel. and the time befor that my neighbor rear ended somone. Funny that it was all one car.

here I'm fixing the one from the kid.

here is me fixing it after a the road turned and a tree jumped out in front of me. Most of the work is done already.

I've smashed more stuff than I care to remember. Dad got a new Nissan to go to his class reunion and I went out with some friends (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/drunk.gif) When I came home there was too many driveways and I ran the fence down the side of his new car. He was not the happiest guy around the next morning. My only total was a Kawasaki H1 (tripple cyl 2-stroke). Layed it down at 70mph. I lost my helmet and a lot of skin. Bike went into the ditch where it fought a 9" wood fence post and lost.

Here's what one of the bike mags of the day said about it. (I agree)
"Kawasaki claimed a standing quarter in 12.4 seconds and were quick to sell the H1 on it's unbelievable performance. Just as well because this bike was more than a handful in anything but a straight line. The H1 was soon to become known as the 'triple with the ripple'. Were you man enough to tame this bucking bronco? Many riders tried and failed!"

I launched my family Suburban 28' down a hillside (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) Mounted it perfectly between 2 big Pine trees (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) Thought maybee I could squeeze through there (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Broke the front axle in 3. Dad was not as proud as I.

1970 datsun 240Z. hydroplaned into a pole, then the side of a building when making a left turn at a four way on a moist new years day. i burst three of the tires too. but, i still drove it about five blocks away so that i wouldn't get busted. it was about 5am when it happened. shitty way to start a new year. it had fresh paint and body work and a good 280z fi engine too. Thats a painfull memory, loved the car.

I crashed my '75 Chevy PU right after I got my liscence... the driver's window(no-ac) jumped the frame and tried to leave the car... I tried to catch it, and ran through a fence... no damage to the truck or me, but I had to fix the fence that weekend...

a dumb chick ran into me in my escort... she was turning left and looking right and ran right into my fender... minimal damage... car wasn't in the best shape anyway... but it ran(until the wiring caught on fire.. as fords tend to do... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) )

I screwed my civic in college pretty good too... heavy rain, high winds, narrow road, I wasn't paying attention to the road(more to my girlfriend at the time... ) and the wind blew my rear tire off the road... I over-corrected and locked up the brakes... and hit a gaurd rail in a spin... not much damage but not cheap to fix... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

When I was 16 I smashed my Mom's '77 Honda Civic into a tree doing parking brake slides in a gravel parking lot. Told the cop I was trying to avoid a squirrel. It didn't fly - I was still charged with dangerous driving. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)

OK -
cars I have crashed:
-Volvo 240D- not quite totaled (what would any 16 yo do in the s-turn 1 block from home?) Lesson- there is a reason Volvo hasn't broken into NASCAR.(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)
-Capri 2600- back when someone's insurance would pay $120.(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
-Peugeot 140- fender bender in foreign country is not good fun. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif)
-BMW 320/6- totaled by 18 wheeler (that one put me in a coma) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)
-914 vs. '91 or '92 vette up mountain. They have power... and roadholding. Even a 914 (205 tires) won't pull 1 G. Damage was minimal, but by the time it was repaired, just about everything had been rebuilt. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/welder.gif)
-Mazda PU brushes Toyota PU in rainy rush hour. No fault cited and I fixed mine myself with rattle can. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/bootyshake.gif)

It is an embarrasingly long list.

Reminds me of a list I once made of all the cars I had owned. That would make a good thread too. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wavey.gif)

I took out a cement trashcan last month in Costa Mesa coming back from SKline's house. Slow speed in the rain, I just bent up my front bumper. It scared the crap outta me, but it gave me an excuse to get a fiberglass R bumper (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Oh boy... I will try to put this in order:

Yamaha RD400-lost to a slurry and graveled corner in Whiittier on Turnbull

VW Scirrocco- lost in a ditch on Turnbull to a positive to negative camber turn going down hill, instant oversteer.

Chevy C10- 5 MPH rollover, while rock climbing

(All of these were before I was 18)

Honda XR400- San Filipe, huge rock under sand, I was out cold for 30 minutes on that one.

Volvo Turbo- Lost when an irrigation truck blew a light and t-boned me, Luckily I was in a Volvo cage, only thing other than soreness was a broken nose from a 1"PVC pipe coming through the window.

F150 Lightning Prerunner- More times than I can remember, but that is why it was all 'glass and a stock 1 day paint color

Other than that...I'm good (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

on my way home from work on new years eve and it was pouring out....i was exhausted from working 8 hours without a break, and i just didnt notice the person ahead of me was stopped, slammed the brakes too late, and they locked up, right into the back of her, her car wasnt bad, mine was 2k to fix, so i sold her and bought my truck
