lets see, And sorry this post is long.
From a very young age I started mangling things and uh, myself........
Age 3 Metropolitan Nash, turn the key, pull the pull starter (dad left it in first) off it chugged down the driveway until CRASH, parents looked outside the kitchen window to see me standing on the drivers seat balling (I was three) after I ran into the back of my dads 60 356 B Cabriolet, which I still own to this day.
Age 5, Well I wasn't driving this time, but I was the cause. We had a Pontiac we called the blue whale cuse it was F___ing huge. My sister ran of the shoulder and wedged it into a fire hydrant, while trying to get me to sit down, I smacked the windscreen with my noodle, and was'nt right for a couple weeks.
Age 8-12 Various motocross accidents but only one major incident. Trying to kick start my dads B50SS BSA and I let go of the compression release just a bit early, She spit me over the bars onto my head (again)and I was out for about 4 hours, woke up in the hospital thinking I was riding the damn thing when it happened.
Age 13 One of the big ones, While wheeling at a demonstration for Yamaha learn to ride, I wheeled over backwards on a TY80 and lost copious amounts of skin. It is the largest organ you know.
Age 14 During national BMX race, tripled what everyone else was single/doubling, it was much faster, I only did it once in practice, because I did not want to give up the secret for the race, won two qualifyers, got to the main, and what'll you know, everyone had the same idea, Broke my tail bone. I know it sounds lame, but it hurt like a M f er.
Age 16 VW Bug, turning left and a guy was trying to pass me from behind, got me right in the door, claimed the accident was my fault, and my insurance company paid, so I got it in the back door without any lube if you know what I mean. Thats okay, Every 1-3 months I would throw two bricks through the windows at his shop (fish market) lost his insurance. Hey, I was 16, and stupid.
Age 16 Terra Haute Indiana, dirt flat track race motorcycle. Through the fench on my flat track bike, broken clave, stiches, broken fingers, broken nose (many to come) and again another concussion, pattern forming here.
Age 18, 73 914 2.0 Two tone rust and lime green shitty paint, with a blue front fender, used to love drifting the thing through this set of esses, no really , I'm not putting you on, I was the original drifter, LOL. anyway, lost it on the second right hander on wyandotte street (just down the street from my girlfriends)and 54th in Kansas City, MO. Told the cops I swerved to miss a dog, sorry, did'nt buy it, Wreckless/ driving to endanger etc... 914 caught on fire when the battery tray came off of the wall (remember the two tone rust) and the positive post touched one of the weber carbs. Nice hot two liter engine I built. burned so well, that the only thing left was the gear sets because the trans caught on fire. Oh, no injuries except my pride , and uh wallet.
Age 19 XL350 Honda,(riding a motorcycle now because I could'nt afford anything else) Stupid broad pulled out in front of me and I did the superman over the bed of her truck, she was pregnant and they sent two sets of EMT's, she went into labor and I went for dermabraid, not fun, more road rash. Man her husband was an A--Hole. Thought it was my fault she had the accident. Their kid was fine, actually saw him in the neighborhood for the next couple years.
Age 23 Southwick National 125 Pro race, knocked down in the first turn, foot caught in the rear wheel of another bike, broken toes right foot, double pulled hamstrings left and right.
Age 25 Road racing, lost the rear end while exiting turn 10 at Loudon NH, broken ankle and of course another concussion. Oh, and had nothing else to drive home in but a 944 Turbo and my girlfriend at the time (now my wife) could'nt drive a stick, Still can't. So after the hospital says it isn't broken I drive home and everytime I step on the clutch pedal my ankle clicks, Surgically repaired two days following the crash. Plenty of sympathy cards to play for the next couple years with the girlfriend and her friends.
Age 31 Daytona International Speedway, Bike Week, Roadracing, lost the nose into turn 1 at about 120MPH, Broken hand, leg, ribs. Hand never did heal, but finally got some of that titanium (leg) all the guys at the track had been talking about.
Age 33 Daytona again, this time in the team race hauler, Some stupid woman stopped for a green light, me and 4 other cars hit her, no injuries. But it did not help I had been up for 37 hours straight.
Since then it has been smooth sailing. No tickets, no accidents, no broken anything. Except for the broken nose in Hockey last year, but thats another story.
