First line....I'm listing this for a friend..... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif)

Sellers seem to think that exempts them from any responsibility for misrepresentation.

"I" would eyeball that puppy before bidding.

trying to contact seller. i haven't found this in local classifieds yet. and do plan on looking at this one. its only about 1.5 hrs away. i dont think i believe the 14,000 miles.
my concren is that they think its worth its weight in gold.
and no pic. of the engine bay or underside, make me think they're hiding something or don't know much about these cars.

did you read the ad??? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

motor said to be rebuilt 15,000 miles ago (same as what the speedo reads)...it is very common to re-calibrate speedo to match engine miles......miles on motor are sometimes more important than the miles on the car.....of course an hour meter could be usefull as well (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)

seeing the rear trunk with the pad out would be nice. the front too. print out a buyers guide at pelican and study it. look under the carpets. esp at the firewall bottom behind the seats. familiarize yourself with the "hell hole" in the engine compartment, the engine shelve area in front of the battery. there will be sound deadening padding. bring a good flashlight with you and spend a couple of bucks on an ice pick to probe around with. what's your spending limit? determine that before you even look at a car. look at the cars in the classifieds here to help you with your pricing basis. not knowing where you are located in the p.s. area, see if you can find one up north that's rougher than you would care to have. when you can really see wher the rust is, it helps you know where the rust hides (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) . nice looking cars in washington can be nightmares. email the seller and ask what it would take to end the auction NOW and get back to us.

thanks guys.
i have looked at one all ready it was a 75 with the pass. long crumbling by the front of the door. and front trunk drivers side front low. and pass side floor up front.all rusted thru holes.
and rhody, i live up by millcreek / snohomish area.
'
i have seen prices all over the place from 1,500 to 4,500. the 4,500 one had rust at the batt. and some body rust lower door and 189,000 miles. engine rebuild by local mech. and repait by " family friend" boat painter by trade. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

i've met root-werks and saw his lastest and have based my expectations on that.

Dave @ Triad has a Yellow 74 2.0l for sale in the NWPca ads. Its the yellow car that Dave Said was working on when he died. All the guys finished it afterwards for him.
Should be a good car to buy as it was solid when I saw it last year.....

You just missed out on the Craigslist car for $700. Dan Root finally had his arm twisted to take it, I couldn't due to no room left.
He fixed a couple a things and sold it back East to a Club member.
Black 74 2.0L but it isn't in the same league as the yellow car IF its the same car I am thinking of.

Always buy the BEST 914 you can get your hands on as they just plain cost double or triple what you think to fix up.

Roger might be interested in selling his yellow 75.....ok car but needs lots of cash to get right.

now see there i go... missing out on a deal again.

i met dan at his house while he was working on his lastest 6 conversion [i think ]seems that he goes thru alot of these.

he gave his phn nmbr. maybe i should call him and give him mine so i can get the next one.

i can do the mechanical work, but want a solid body.

i dont know if i should mention what he told me he paid for the orange 1.7 he just did the 6 in. he said he paid maybe a little to much but that is his fav. color.
