There are two reproduction grommets from our well-known vendors offered as replacements for the oil temp sender seal on the taco plate (part #311949149A) but which one is most correct to the original? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I don't know if I saved the original off GA000099 it was in rough shape. I'll look though the bins of take off parts.
FWIW - the 2nd photo doesn't look familiar to me. Think it was more like first photo. |

Nevermind post -- This boot I have is the oil pressure sender boot -- you want temp sensor boot. I didn't run across a temp sensor boot. My mistake.

These are for the oil pressure sender. He is referring to the temp sender in the taco plate.
Here is a short thread I have found. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=111440 The picture shown in the OT is from 914Rubber's site. I tend to think it is the right part... And it is currently on sale for Black Friday... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) https://914rubber.com/oil-temp-wiring-harness-grommet-1 |

I'm sure either will work but I'd like to get as close to original as I can. I've also done a google image search on the part# and all I get are picks of either of these two reproductions. Obviously they can't both be right. |

Top one from your website (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
Bottom one from 914Rubber's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Having bought rubber parts from both places, I'd say the pictures are pretty accurate. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

Thanks George, that clears things up, but yeah, the bad pic is what comes up on your site. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
Can anyone confirm if these get installed as "innies" or "outies" as is the question in the OT? |

Outies
And we couldn't find a good original to make it from ant made what we could from pictures and actually measured the parts to make sure they would fit correctly. Ours may not be a 100% identical to the original but it was made with our best guess and fit checked. We do not have voids in our castings as we actually spent the money and made an injection tool. We had used catalyzed rubber in the past and the voids (air bubbles) become problematic. |

Also we made the hole for the wire smaller to allow it to seal around the wire. May not be 100% "correct" but solves a problem |
