My Busch is starting to sound like it’s gonna need replacing. Since the 1.8 version is NLA, I looking to the .914 World for possible replacement.
Prefer new and still in the box, or a good replacement. |

Also, FWIW, I’ve been in contact with Bursch trying to convince them to make a full system exhaust for the 914 so we can have some that doesn’t depend on that stupid flange location.

Thanks for the Bursch info: I have forgotten what the flange is about ?
I just looked at Vintage Speeds SS muffler for the 1.8. https://store.vintagespeed.com.tw/914-2-0L-...stem-p180686506 Attached thumbnail(s) |

I've just noticed a self-imposed design restriction with 914 exhaust. In 911's it's not uncommon to see full-system designs that don't rely on standard routing or transition points from the OE system. But for 914s, unless you want a race system, all mufflers are designed to mate to OE heat exchangers, and all heat exchangers are designed to mate to OE mufflers, and then you have to choose between a 1.7/1.8 flange and a 2.0 flange even though all aftermarket heat exchangers are using the same pipe diameter as the 1.8/2.0.
And then, with such an awesome long tube header from the factory, OE heat exchangers give torque away by not using equal length long tubes or collectors. This is the what makes the bursch so great. They are the ONLY ones to try and remedy some of those lazy oversights with their muffler. It really is the best muffler I've seen for the 914, period. but that's just my rant in your WTB thread lol... sorry. Van |

That version of ther Bursch is not for the 75-75 that Jim has. Those will fit the earlier dual twin pipe exit 70-74 not the dual single pipe HEs on the later 75-76 cars. This is the 75-75 version (currently not available) https://www.rosepassion.com/en/parts-porsch...h-3963-0-576638 |

Get a recommendation for a local to you muffler shop that can weld up a new muffler for you. Match up the muffler dementions. Have them use the triangular bolt flanges. I imagine you'll be all in about 1/4-1/3 of that $843.59. PM sent.
