Not to hijack this thread ....

Am I correct in my belief that the only difference between a 1.7 and a 2.0 tin is the cylinder cover plate?

Part number 1 and 2.

Mostly correct, George. Besides the obvious #1 and #2, the 2.0 uses a different #21 and does not have #32 or #33. When the charcoal canister for evap was moved to the engine compartment from the front trunk, #2 changed again to eliminate a hose fitting that got moved from the tin to the passenger side of the fan housing.
