Good morning, I hope everybody had a good weekend. Quick favor to ask – can you all remind me if I use a white coat of high temp grease on the transmission input shaft before installing the throw out bearing and meeting it to be engine?
Believe so, but would appreciate a reminder, especially since I’m teaching my 16 year old had to do this and would like to make sure I am properly instructing him. Thank you! |

Be careful, do not want grease on the disc. Perhaps a graphite dry lube? making sure she slides reasonably smooth

Been doing this for 38 years on probably 50 different clutch swaps No problem yet. But not much grease Brant |

I’ve been using something called Z-Powder, Dow-Corning, I’ve had the container for 35+ years, doesn’t attract dirt.
