Working with a tech but not familiar with 914.
Car is 74, e flashers work but not turn signals. Trying to check switch ……have a spare. Can switch be accessed without removing steering wheel..? Any guidance appreciated. Thanks |

No, but removing the wheel and replacing the whole turn signal assembly is super easy.

One more question……does lower dash pad need to be removed to change turn signal switch. It’s been a long time since I have had one out…….

Yes. I had to in order to get to the electrical connector. And don't tighten up the mounting screws. Let the assembly "float" in the column.

So we have turn signals….but a twist to problem.
My neighbor is retired Porsche tech. Some help from Dave D on Bird site…. He kept trouble shooting and made test light work ……plug at end of steering column was disconnected…….and hanging loose. No clue how ! Try removing lower dash pad with cage in car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Everything working. Thanks all…. |
