Hi All -
So...I decided to do a bit of a refresh on my 71 D-jet car. Adjusted the valves, new points, (same condenser) new cap, rotor and a rebuilt throttle valve switch. New vacuum hoses everywhere, functioning AAR . Had the car on 4X jackstands to adjust the valves, and was running the car and setting the idle - had it all back together (oil bath air cleaner, new hoses). Was running great. Lowered the car (removed all 4 jackstands) and now it won't start. Nothing has physically changed. I just pulled the fuel line post fuel filter and pre-fuel pump, and fuel flowed fine. Points gap looks good, I have cranked the car with the timing light on each spark plug wire, light flashes. I don't think air is an issue, AAR wide open and boot is off throttle valve. I DON"T seem to smell fuel with all the cranking. Did I lose the prime on my fuel pump? I have an original 3 port type installed, all new gas lines as of last March. Car was running great on jackstands, I am befuddled. Any advice appreciated! thanks, Reg |

You could try a shot of starter fluid too. If it starts you know you have a fuel issue. Then it is pressure or the trigger points/ecu. Did you double check to make sure the trigger point wires are making a good connection? |

I will check the trigger points and get some starting fluid and report back. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. |
