51x9,15x10 or 11 Fuch wheels - where to get?, different backspacings available??

shoehorn and some butter - it fits Group: Members Posts: 1,547 Joined: 23-January 06 From: Broomfield, CO Member No.: 5,463 Region Association: None	So I like the look of the Fuch 5-bolts and want to put them on my car, but I need a deep backspace set. I was hoping to find out if anyone knows where to get them with the centers moved... Want 15x9 with a 4-1/2" to 5" backspace and 15x10 with 5-1/2 to 6... maybe 15x11 with 6-1/2 to 7" if I can figure out how to squeeze them under the rearend flares. Apparently to even find Fuch wheels this size is nearly impossible, let alone with custom backspace. Stock I think is way to shallow/"dished". shoehorn and some butter - it fits Group: Members Posts: 1,547 Joined: 23-January 06 From: Broomfield, CO Member No.: 5,463 Region Association: None	the tires I run are the DOT Hoosiers 245-50-15 on my 15x8-1/2" and the 245-50-15 and 275-50-15 would fit the 9 and 10. 11s would be pushing it, so probably just stick to 10s to make fitment easier on the car too. and yeah, specifically Fuchs. Fikse doesn't even make anything under 17" if remember right - they have one wheel I really like, but it is 17" minimum for sure. Old skooler here... I like the 15" rubber on the teens v. the rubberbands... :smiley with a cane needed:

That sucks that they do not do 15. They are suppose to be known
for racing cars. I guess now it is all about the bling.

I did like the fiske 17 on my rx7.

if you're talking stock GT flares, 11" won't fit. even the 10" is pushing it, they won't fit with the 285/40 that the factory ran on the 9" ...

factory setup for the GTs was 245/45 x15 on 8" for the front and 285/40 x 15 on 9" for the rear.

as far as i know, *no* one makes the 285/40 street tires anymore. and trust me, i looked for them ...
there are still some 285/40 pirelli tires floating around from time to time (ebay) but be aware of the fact that pirelli hasn't made those in 15 years. even if advertised as *new*, they will be at least that old ...

Right now my 8-1/2" wheels are somewhat deep dish, so the tire is right at the fender, but I have a couple inches to grow toward the inner fender before I hit it or the trailing arm...

I've never heard of someone failing tech due to the frankenstien Fuchs, but I have heard of them failing a few years ago on the track (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)

....problem was linked to the lack of a sufficient radius being machined into the Fuchs center (a bolted together wheel, not a welded unit )...Dave Darling knows the couple that owns the car, it got damaged pretty good from what I remember.....

just remember, these are 20 to 30 year old rims that who knows what kind of abuse they had been put thru....then add even wider rim halves and sticky tires to really push the limits of the rim center (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

I have a set of 15X9 and 15X11 Simmons wheels that are available. Like mentioned by Rich 15X9 Fuchs are Uber expensive.

Yes many aftermarket wheels are allowed on the track by PCA and other race groups. Kinesis, Fikse,Borbet, BBS, CCW, Jongbloed, the list goes on. I think the PCA rule was trying to get the cheap fake Fuchs off the track
