A local 911 guy offered me the complete engine out of a 935 yesterday. It has everything, fuel system, turbo, headers, etc.
It's from a real 935. I have seen the car and the engine. (sorry.. no picts.) 2500.00. It would be a hoot in my /6....... But I love the MFI I have........ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

How come so cheap? I would think an original #s 935 motor would be worth like $75-$100K.

Don't ask me....But I have been warned that the guy is a bit on the nutty side.
It's an ealry non-intercooled 935 engine. I am thinking of buying the motor even if I don't install it in my car. |

Sounds like a no brainer to me. I believe 935 engines weren't built for longevity but the engine is valuable. |

Yeah, I know you say you don't have any. Get out there and take them as you pick up the engine. Don't delay a minute and let the guy change his mind. Even a few parts off of the engine should be worth the price. |

OK.. my bad... It's a 934 motor. It is out of a factory slope nose car with a single turbo and no intercooler.
Here's the pict he has of it when he had it rebuilt years ago. Its the only one he sent me. Attached image(s) |

Agreed... 930 turbo.
Does he have the 4 speed that goes with it??? the reason i ask is... If ya get the 4 speed. You can launch the car out of first. (flip tranny & add cooler) Yup... dragster 914...... that handles..!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first gears in those tranny's actually live doing burn outs... (for a while anyway) Back in the day. Many of my friends would leave rubber forever with the 930.. Rarely did they break a tranny. And you can retrofit the turbo to a newer style for much faster spool up and peak power. And you CAN add a intercooler. And bump boost. (gotta tweak fuel distribution) Fuchit... make a scary 914... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) Why?.............Cause that would be cool. For some unknown reason that makes no monetary sense. Thats why you should DO IT...!!!!!!!!! And because I can't..!!! And it would be on your dime. And maybe i could bum a ride someday.... OK...OK... I am just trying to live vicariously through others...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Twystd1 |

That pic is of a non-intercooled 930 engine.
It probably is a 3.0. My 1983 has the intercooler, so it is earlier than that. Does it run, or is it blown up? |

the case alone is worth 2500. if it has a six bolt flywheel you can run a 66mm early 911 crankshaft,
no mods the latest shortstroke/ bigbore craze . |
