Quick question - Are the stub axles from an early 911/912 and those from a 914-6 the same?

NO!
The CV Joints were different, so the flanges are different (splines are the same). |

Quick question - Are the stub axles from an early 911/912 and those from a 914-6 the same? Depends on your definition of "early". True "early" 900 series cars, 1964-1968, are REALLY different, and use 2 bearings. Later ones differ in CV diameter and configuration, but may fit the splines. The Cap'n |

The Cap'n Cap'n is correct as usual. The "early" lobro halfshafts had two universal joints per side. CV joints replaced them in 69 I think. |

Retrofit kits with inner and outer stub axles and a CV joint halfshaft were in the kit. Many cars had them installed one side at a time, so you would see them in the shop with one of each. The pre 1969 outer shafts were about 10" long and had a small number od large ssquare cut splines, much like a VW bug or bus. The Cap'n |
