The passengere side works fine. The driver side would not come up. I replaced the relay but it still won't come up. If I manually dial the light up, it goes down when I turn the key on. Does the mechanism have an internal limit switch?

Same thing happened with mine.

Try a known good relay.

Both a new relay and swapping from the other working side provide the same result; not opening.

If the headlight goes back down when you manually raise it, then the motor and relay are fine. It sounds like the headlight switch is not sending a signal to the motor. Check where the motor connects to the wiring harness and see if one of the wires is coming unplugged.

Check out this thread.... How Your Headlights Work.. It gives a step by step explanation of how they go up and down.
