OK, I tried this in one of the nailed topics but got zero responses, so I'll try it here.
I always thought that all 914 ash trays were the same - wrong! Somewhere along the line they changed. I have my original 72 as my basis point, and a ? that I bought from eBay (nice, but totally different. Can we get pics of every model year ash tray? Want to find out when they changed. Don't car if it's ugly or pristine - just take a pic & post it. Pat |

If the face is plastic, I would guess that it is from a later 1975-1976 car. It appears that lots of interior parts became plastic in the later years.

That's what I thought, but there are more differences. Placement of rivets, welds instead of rivets, lack of screws, etc. That's why I want to see everything! Pat |
