my 914 was recovered, i'll post more details as they emerge. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) it appears there's only minor damage, the drivers side door lock was "punched" and the steering column is trashed, but there's no other visual damage to the car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hands.gif) the police has a vague discription of the thieves from an eyewitness, but that's about all at this point. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) apparently the car was dumped on the side of the road in oakland. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) i think i need a beer ... Now, get started on looking over your "Friends and Enemies" list!!! Very difficult to believe that this was a "random" theft.... Oh, yeah... the motion sensor camera idea... very good if you can find a spot to place it that is "unobtrusive". Go with the infrared night photo system, and they have them with 150 day battery life, and huge photo capacity... the idea is that hunters set it in the woods to see what game comes thru over a long period of time... Gander Mtn, Cabalas, or on line... they have all of the details... Seems like I paid $250 for mine, and it does pretty much everything. Download the photo chip right into your computer... Interesting what you catch on it... a LOT of people that you don't know pull in your driveway for no apparent reason, kids throw stuff at your property, punks four wheel across your yard... and this is in the GOOD section of town! Seems especially worth the money ifyou are that far away from the driveway... |
