I just got my new subwoofer enclosure from James, but have a question.
Who has one, and how did you secure it in the footwell? Btw, I highly recommend it if you're wanting bigger sounds in the car... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Why does everyone make these so that the passnger has to put their feet all over the woofer? If you going to make a complete enclosure, why not offset the speaker cone to the middle and keep the passenger foot well clear. No offense to the folks who've done it this way, just wondering why?? I would think it would be a matter of protrusion into the floorboard. The placement to the left allows for a deeper speaker due to the shape of the footwell. The farther center you place it, you will either need to extend the enclosure or require a smaller, shallower speaker. |

I really had a hard time visualizing how this went and why it was shaped the way it was until I actually pulled the trigger and got it. It replaces a foam fill part that Porsche put in there and the only place for the woofer is offset left. This is very innovative and James is to be commended not criticized. FWIW, this is a car I use for fun and when I do it seems like a very small thing to ask my passenger NOT to get their feet all over the woofer. It comes naturally to most. "Oh look a speaker, I better not put my foot there"... |
