Regrets Selling 914, To those that have done it already. Options

The pendulum is swinging toward selling my 1973 914 2.0. 90K original miles. Owned in the family since 1974. It is becoming difficult to ignore the possibility of buying a Boxster at their current market prices.

I keep reading about those that have sold their 914's only to regret it later but I wish to know why and for what reasons. Emotional attachment? Because their fun to drive? Anyone care to chime in? Thanks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

erik, my apologies a bit there. for whatever reason, i thought you weren't really into your 914...but i see (now that i've looked) that you're no new 914 newbie. it's not like anything's been said that you didn't already know/have thought about...except maybe renting a boxster for awhile to make sure that's what you really want.

and if you haven't driven a 914-4 with 140+ horse that's been set up well, i'd say you should give that a go, too, because i think that'll give a compelling counter to the boxster experience.

my vote is still to bump your 914's power. if not for you, then for the next family member who owns the car - to make sure they keep it.
