How difficult is it to remove the rubber bumpers froma 75 914? I am going to send it in for media blasting prior to paint and am removing as much as possible myself prior to getting it stripped. Thanks

Not that easy but almost...
The sides and maybe the top of your bumper are "hooked" to the body via rubber hooks on the inside. The body itself has metal pieces attached that the rubber grabs on to. You have to basically disingage these rubber hooks from the metal. Not too hard to get off but putting it back on is a major league bitch. That rubber is old enough so getting it stretched over those metal peices is a real bear! Good luck... |
