I met this old ferrari guy who took me through his photo album and pointed out all the cars he had totalled in his years.
He thought it was funny. what have you crashed that you wished you still had? |

Only the big ones here the minor opps like people backing into my parked car have been omitted:
#1. Rode my '71 Norton Commando thru a gated fence on base at Mayport Fl. #2. Fell asleep at the wheel in my '76 Corvette, woke up in the hospital with a concusion, broken nose, and lots of strained muscles. I bounced off the Jersey Barrier crossed two lanes of traffic on I10 and then was thrown from the car as it rolled. An 18 wheeler slid thru the wreck while some guy was helping to drag me out of the drainage ditch. Fl state police were finding parts of my car for almost a mile. #3. Hit by a drunk driver on the way to a car show in Washington D.C. with my 1968 Mustang. Totaled by the moron driving a used Benz from the used car lot he worked at, he hit us from behind and didnt have any lights on at 1 in the morning. Tore up my knees as I slid up under the dash and my (then) wife went thru the windshield suffering some cuts and a miscarriage. To add insult to injury I had just finished the resto on the Mustang, and it was stolen from the garage it was towed to after the accident. #4. My Fiero vs. Cutlass Supreme. Cutlass driver turned left in front of me at an intersection where no turns are allowed. I hit the side of his car so hard the Fiero came off the ground and did a 180 and landed behind him. Pushed in the rear quarter on the cutlass so far that it formed itself around the rear frame rail. Cutlass was able to drive away, though not far as I bent his frame and the Fiero was toast. Those are the biggies, I've had several close calls in Porsches but have always been able to regain control and not hurt anyone or anything other then needing a change of shorts. After #1 I haven't been back on a bike in over 20 years. |
