So I need to get some 100mm output flanges to go with my 944 axles I want to use on my 914. I am thinking they come out of a 915. What do I really need to look for with my 901 box and is the 100mm measured from the bolt spacing or the distance across or?
I also was asked if I need coarse or fine spline. Ummmm.... 901 guys help me out here. Dr. Evil? Slits? anyone? |

Oh. Well, the guy I bought these from had been using them on his 914 so I am guessing they are fine.

Oh. Well, the guy I bought these from had been using them on his 914 so I am guessing they are fine. Then your CVs will always be extended under normal driving. Ideally, you want the inner and outer race to be in the same plane when the car is on the ground. With an axle shaft that is too long, you will always run both CVs with an offset between the inner and the outer race. I'm not sure if that's ok in the long run, i simply wasn't going to find that out the hard way, so i opted for machining the stock 914 axle shaft. You're going to run at least 1/4" offset on each CV with the 944 shaft. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Andy |
