My 914 rear trunk area was cut out and replace with new tin I was installing
a rear OEM sway bar and it was hitting the heat shield for the muffiler in order to get the sway bar in I had to remove it do I need to put it back in I'm running a Sebring Exhaust system |

Remember, these cars were built for a price. If they could have left the shield off, they would have! I'd recommend replacing it.
