Yikes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

One of my students at yesterdays GGR school, showed up with a new Cayman. Beautiful car on the outside of course, but this one had a turbo kit; like $10K. Given this was an S Cayman, the student, who did the installation himself, said total power would be 500HP.

OK, now I know what I want to drive around and then take to the track, change the tires and surprise a lot of folks.

Oh, unfortunately, this was his first outting and he was having some issues with the "operation." He decided to park it and tomorrow will be taking it to a turbo specialist to do a little tuning.

For any of you that have driven a Cayman you know how well they handle, so maybe a Cayman, with 500hp, is a pretty good combination.

I know I know... what about the transmission with all that power - forgot to ask him about that as we were somewhat busy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Last year or the year before I had a student with a Cayman with a blower... the guy was waiting for a solo check out ride.... They asked me to jump in the car and see if he was ok to solo.... but anyway..

I had never been in a Cayman before, and had no chance to question the car regarding mods etc.....

I was "blown" away by the car.... he could put it anywhere on the track, the car would shoot out of a corner like very few cars I've been in..

Anyway.... I knew there was something suspect about this car... it wasn't a run of the mill Cayman..

Found out in the pits it was supercharged, had all monoball suspension, big brakes...

An amazing car....

And yes I bumped him up a run group

Haha, I went down to the local exotic car dealership and had to preted to be a doctor to let him let me test drive it. I don't have any real experience driving porsches, but I was absolutely blown away. I've driven an 04 subaru sti around the track, and honestly felt the turbo cayman would mercilessly dust it off (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Nothing like feeling your insides pushed rearwards when you punch the accelerator lol
