how many raffle tix would you be willing to buy, if this came to pass, assuming $50 each ticket

Detail thread

ok, basically this: *IF* Jake were to Raffle off one of his engines... who here would be willing to fork up $50/ticket for a CHANCE to win it? how many Tix would you consider buying?

also, is there someone here who could explain to us how we could do this legally?

there are some doubts that we could sell 150+ tix... enough to pay Jake for his time/engine...

what do ya'll think?

For most lotteries you need a charity to donate the proceeds to so you can get a licence to sell tickets. My favorite is:

The Firefighters Burn Fund Inc.

They raise funds to buy and maintain a burn ward in local hospitals. Speciality equipment, ect.

It's run by:

United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg
Local 867 - International Association of Fire Fighters
303-83 Garry Street
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
R3C-4J9

Unlike other charities all the money raised is used for the purpose it is intended. No one takes administrative fees or 20-30% off the top for fund raising. A very worthwhile charity. There are several burn funds all over North America.

I'd be in for a couple tickets.
