putting the front suspension back in the car and the driver side front A-arm mount wont line up. all the other bolts are in , but this one seems to need to go back towards the back of the car. all the bushings are new and are compressed in as far as they can go.
also, i think one of the threads in the body is stripped. what size bolt do i need , the ones i have are 20mm but the aa catalogue says they should be 30mm Attached image(s) |

Loosen up all your other bolts and start over. QUOTE what size bolt do i need Google "Porsche Parts PDF" Pull up your car and have a look. a drop of advice in a sea of foolishness. thanks eric, will give it a try Do yourself a favor. Drop the rear bolts out first. lower everything. Get a tap and chase the threads on the front holes. (and clean them of rust...and paint them you fool...use a brush) Jack everything back up and put the FRONT bolts in first....and make sure they are loose. Then put the two big rear bolts in. You could be getting hung up on the steering shaft also if you have the rack bolted in place already....so unbolt that and let it slide around while you get the a arms hooked up first. Sway bar...unbolt it Top of strut...unbolt it. The first bolts need to be the a arm bolts. Start at the front (did I repeat that) The the rear...you can lever the rear easier. Then the top of the strut Then the steering rack (after the a arms are tight) Rich |
