4 inches of energy absorbtion prior to trunk deformation. 4 inches of bump warning for teh idiot that will eventually back into your parked car. yes, the bumper is dented regardless. but I do I like the clean look |

There is no guarantee of that. I think they have a very minimal protective value and were primarily added to satisfy artificial government regs. |
