since I'm doing the engine swap soon I want to know a few things...
should I replace the old oil pump from my 1.7 with a new Heavy duty pump? it's only $60, but if it doesn't offer anything over the stock one I have... it would give me some peace of mind... but I need the group's opinion... also, the oil cooler from the 1.7... is there a way to test these? are they failure prone like the type 1 cooler is? 1 more thing: I noticed that the engine seals (rubber pieces that attach the body to the engine tin)... is this bad? will it affect anything if the tin is in good shape? I am cheap, but I don't want this engine to go bad simply because I didn't take the time to ask or the money to do it right... I want to do it right, but as cheaply as possible... thanks for all your help |
