Memorial Day Weekend Plans, 914 going under the knife Options

Well,
The wife is working all 3 days this weekend, so all my little 914 projects are going to get done. here's what's on the docket:

• install jwest fuse panel
• install jwest fog light module
• install rennshift
• new shift bushings all around
• new clutch cable
• new accel cable
• replacing all the vaccuum hoses
• setting timing

A bit ambitious perhaps, but most of these are "while i'm in there" type things. Besides, I figure replacing the clutch and accel cables is best to do in the comfort of my garage....since the next time i have to do it might be on the side of the road!

An update based on 4h in my garage last night:

• install jwest fuse panel done.
• install jwest fog light module
• install rennshift done.
• new shift bushings all around
• new clutch cable
• new accel cable
• replacing all the vaccuum hoses done, although I found some discrepancies between DD's and George's hose connection diagrams...will be the subject of another post
• setting timing

i also swapped out my vinyl-peeling center console sides for ones in much better shape.

Hopefully I can get everything else done today!

End of the weekend update:

My jb-welded clutch tube came loose during my rennshift shakedown cruise, which prevented me from getting into 4th and 5th. I re-did the "weld", this time cleaning all surfaces thoroughly with carb cleaner and roughing with sandpaper. hopefully this will hold until I can get it done properly or get a cable clamp in there.

I also discovered my right rear caliper is leaking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Time to give Mr. Shea a call...
