Has anyone used an aftermarket oil tank and mounted it say....in the rear trunk or up front? If so, who made it....?
I'm thinking of doing it because of PRICE, fittings (AN) and better weight distribution.... |

I have the oil tank mounted in the trunk, left side just behind the rear axle shaft. The supply line to the engine is not very long and misses the moving parts under the car well. I did not notice any difference due to the weight moving rearward, but the tank was originally in the right side of the engine compt when the car had a four in it. We did do a rebalance to tilt the car slightly to the right front after all was ssaid and done, but not much was needed. The feed to the front goes through the right side heater duct opening and returns same and goes through the filter then back into the tank. Puke take is in the rear right trunk corner. My tank was originally made by Unique Metal Products in El Cajon CA: http://www.uniquemetalproducts.com/. Good luck
