I know that I will be able to talk to many of you at Matt's party on the 21st.
But, I'll ask here now. Is anyone from the Baltimore/York/Frederick area heading over Friday afternoon? I am thinking that would be the way to go if you are planning to take part in the AX, and I know I would feel more comfortable making a long trip in my 914 while caravaning. Getting up at 4 am to make the start of the AX Saturday morning does not sound like fun to me. My current route will take me down PA rt30 to rt 15 into Maryland. From 15 I will pick up 77 to Thurmont and 66s at Smithburg. From there, good ole rt 70 until I hit Hancock, where I will take rt 40 into Cumberland. Drive time will be ~3.5 hours. I could change my route to go through Baltimore and meet people there for the run out rt 70, or meet up with folks near Plasket's house as we have done at the past. Or, I could meet with folks an Baltimore, and then merge that group with whoever is meeting in Frederick and all travel out as one larger convoy. The OTHER option that I have is taking my family out to visit with dear friends in Everett PA, only an hour out from the Cumberland Airport. Doing the AX and party, and driving back to Everett Saturday night. Options options options. Let me know what plans are. Zach |
