What is the consensus on type of oil to use in a rebuilt (never run) -6 2.2 motor for the street? Brad Penn 20/50, Synthetic or standard Valvoline 20/50? I know the synthetic does a much better job preserving seals. I dont imagine the car will get more than about five thousand miles of use each year.

Looks can be deceiving. When compared side by side the differences are notable.

Thanks for the guidance Jake. Sounds like I need to start running this oil in my 176,000 mile 89 911 Targa. It uses about 1 qt every 650 miles or so currently. I have been running Valvoline 20/50 in it for the last 100,000 miles. I should have been using this stuff...

Valvoline didn't drastically change in formulation until around 2004, so you've probably been ok for most of those miles. |
