I ordered a Hella H4 Conversion kit and noticed that is says that it is NOT DOT Approved . OK Why NOT??

I disagree that inspectors won't notice. I think some would. It is pretty obvious that DOT lenses have the alignment tits. Most inspectors have a book (well, database) showing what the underhoood area for each and every vehicle should look like. I'm guessing they also have a little direction about DOT lenses and other things applicable to all. It's low hanging fruit for 'em.
I know people in VA who keep the old ones around for that yearly re-installation... |
