Ok JP, what's the speed formula? How do you get that back-end to stick like that? (Jump in Brad, any time.)
My front end is planted solid, but I can't keep the back-end under me. Above 15mph its loose under all conditions. Went to autocross school last week & had a blast, but instructors both said car would be faster if not so loose & I agree. Hard to get close to the limit in slalom without doing tank-slappers. Trail-braking at high speed feels like the back isn't even on the ground. Do I need to move to a bigger front bar (Tarret)? Suggestions appreciated. -Ben M. Here's my setup: (engine is still just a 1.7) Front: Koni Yellows (911 valved) 19mm front bar - full hard 21mm torsion bars 'A' calipers on vented rotors 225/50 on 7x16 (street rubber: Dunlop SP8000) -1.5 camber, 6 caster, 0 toe Rear: Bilsteins 180# springs no bar (of course) 'A' calipers on vented rotors 245/45 on 8x16 (street rubber: Dunlop SP8000) -1.75 camber, slight toe-in (forget exact amt.) Will try to have race rubber and Mueller-bearings next year. |
