Wow this has got to be the most expensive six I have seen so far.
I was talking with a friend who has a 73 911 S that the 914's are going to follow the early 911 trend in crazy values once the 911's dry up especially the sixes. Looks like the $100,000.00 914 is not that far away now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |

Back in '04, this car was shown at the local PCA region concours. I was one of the judges at that time. Our rules are for cleanliness and presentation, not stock originality. Anyway, the car was not properly prepared by the rules, although a one day cleaning effort would have trophied the owner. I attempted to talk with him but he was too pissed that he took last place out of 3 in the class. Never came back. He still runs a Porsche repair business on Boston's north shore.

Don I think that all of the PCA Regions are similar at their CdE's - cleaning & maintenance are judged - not originality. At Parade the originality would come into play, but he still would've lost due to lack of proper prep. In either case - no need to get pissed, take your marbles & go home mad! He should've taken the judging sheet home, cleaned up the gigs, then come out to the next one to win. Odd that folks don't get so hyped up about cleaning their house, then go have it judged, & get P.O.'ed when someone finds dirt in the corners! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) However, at this price one would expect either a top racer fit-out or a perfectly restored & 100% rust-free perfectly original car IMHO! |

We are resporing & prepping a matching number "Six" for Parade, bare metal, stock bits, ect. If it is finished in time for Parade, it will be by the skin of out teeth. I want it to be so I can have some of you guys look for flaws & mistakes so they can be corrected and I really want to see him get the money, as like others here, we are deep $$$$$ into this car.. Here is the engine, wasn't cheap to get it here..
