Epoxy primer will go over anything you'll buy in the store as primer filler (which is most likely urithane).
Your fine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) However your probably getting more primer epoxy than you really need... Not that thats a bad thing its just extra money. One thing I was thinking of is the color.. I remember having a hard time covering over that dark grey, do they have a lighter grey primer epoxy they could sell you? If not, then I recommend getting only one quart, then go to your local paint store and ask them if they could add white pigment so that its more of a neutral grey (Probably have to add 1/2 a quart of white pigment so you may be looking at $20 or so, but you'll have full coverage in 3 quarts instead of 5 or 6, which allows you to have more layers for wet sanding). OR just getting the primer epoxy at your local store that would a color match to the orange. You'll take that 1.5 quarts or so and spray 2 layers (itll be close but you really only need one coat) and that will give you your base color and it will seal your bodywork for you. Then spray your color right over that.. Seriously walking into a auto paint store and talking about this is a good idea.. They are generally nice guys. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) as you suggested, " One thing to note, 1 gal of the primer will make 1.5 gallons sprayable. You can use this instead of the primer that you have been using. " I was going to use that as a primer to finish the body work without the reducer. is that still ok? because I can get that at my local paint shop while waiting for the paint. |
